Cannabinoids are the chemical compounds found in cannabis and other flowers. There are currently 113 documented cannabinoids found in the cannabis flower. They can provide relief to a wide array of symptoms including pain, nausea, anxiety, insomnia, and inflammation.
Cannabinoids work their medicinal magic by imitating compounds found naturally in our bodies, called endocannabinoids, which activate to maintain internal stability and health. To put this very complex system simply, cannabinoids mediate communication between cells, and when there is a deficiency or problem with our endocannabinoid system, unpleasant symptoms and physical complications occur.
Here at Herbal Infusions, we create products made from our full-spectrum hemp extract, which means that they contain all of the benefician cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. It’s one of the many things that set us apart from those who sell only isolated CBD products. Browse our collections.
Endocannabinoid System
How it all works
When cannabis is consumed, cannabinoids bind to receptor sites throughout our brain (receptors called CB-1) and body (CB-2). Our internal endocannabinoid system has many important biological functions
The ECS is extremely complex, and experts haven’t yet fully determined exactly how it works or all its potential functions.
According to a study published in the International Journal of Molecular Science, the ECS has been linked to the following processes:
- appetite and digestion
- metabolism
- chronic pain
- inflammation and other immune system responses
- mood
- learning and memory
- motor control
- sleep
- cardiovascular system function
- muscle formation
- bone remodeling and growth
- liver function
- reproductive system function
- stress
- skin and nerve function
These functions all contribute to homeostasis, which refers to the stability of our internal biological environment. For example, if an outside force, such as pain from an injury or a fever, throws off your body’s homeostasis, our endocannabinoid system kicks in and assists your body in returning to its ideal operation.
Today, most experts agree that maintaining internal biological homeostasis is the primary role of the ECS.
True-Spectrum vs. Isolated CBD Products
True-Spectrum - A More Effective Option
Our products are made from True-Spectrum hemp extract, which means that they contain all forms of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other beneficial phytonutrients found in the plant, whereas Isolate CBD only contains cannabidiol.
Due to what’s known as the “entourage effect,” our True-Spectrum hemp extract is much more effective than a CBD only product. Common cannabinoids found in our hemp extract: CBD, CBDV, CBG, CBC, CBN, CBDA, THC, THCV.
